Whether you are a seasoned industry veteran or a newcomer to the world of diamonds, PGSL offers classes that build the skill set of the individual to make you more knowledgeable in the field. All courses emphasize practical, real-world application. This means nurturing skills that you will need to use in the course of everyday business transactions. The course descriptions listed below provide a brief synopsis of what the prospective student can expect from a class.
Diamond Grading & Identification
This 20-hour course teaches diamond grading and evaluation through lectures and hands-on labs. Students work with simulants and treated stones, learn pricing and industry standards (FTC, CIBJO), and earn a Certificate of Completion.
This course covers common diamond grading challenges, such as fluorescence, borderline grades, and recut potential. Students gain hands-on experience and learn to identify color-treated diamonds in both irradiation and HPHT methods.

KM (Internal) Laser Drill Treatment Detection
This one-day course teaches students to identify diamonds treated with KM (internal) laser drilling through hands-on practice with sample stones. A Certificate of Completion is awarded.
Topics in Fancy Color Diamond Evaluation
This course introduces color science and the Munsell system for consistent gemstone and diamond grading through hands-on lab work. A Certificate of Completion is awarded.
